I've always liked 24 for its requisite that you must be totally willing to totally suspend disbelief. But sometime 24 really pushes it.
In the first season of 24, in what has become a 24 staple, the viewers were shocked to learn that good CTU agent, Nina, was actually a bad girl, confirmed when Nina killed Jack's wife, Terri.
Last night we learned that the Jonah Hodges' Starkwood operation is not the BIG bottom of the ongoing attack on America, we learn its something bigger, WAY bigger, after Jack has Tony Almeda blow up the missiles loaded with bad stuff.
All seemed to be going swimmingly, FBI agent Larry Moss and Tony in a copter, chasing a bad guy who had killed an FBI agent and who had a canister of the bad stuff. The copter corners the bad guy, the bad guy shoots the pilot, Tony and Larry run for cover, Larry gets shot, Tony goes to help him, the bad guy moves in with gun pointing, Tony waves the bad guy off. And suffocates the bewildered Agent Moss. Along with the suffocated bewildered audience.
Why did Tony suddenly turn bad guy? How are they gonna make sense of this with only a few hours to go? It's perplexing. Meantime, Jack's miracle stem cell cure in the form of daughter Kim has arrived.

I love the braveness of 24. What if Tony was a part of the conspiracy of patriots dating back to Day 5? What if Tony planned faking his own death with Henderson back then too inorder to avoid exposure? Or what if Tony is still undercover of sorts trying to follow the cannister all the way back to its real source? They alwys keep you guessing. Love it. I could take another WEEK of 24 days!
