Survivor 18:: Tocantins---The Brazilian Highlands

It seems. to be, that I just finished watching the last Survivor, that being Survivor Gabon. In fact, I've yet to manage to watch all of the reunion show from that Survivor.

Even so, to my surprise, I learned this morning that the latest iteration of Survivor starts tonite at 8pm Eastern, 7pm Central on CBS.

Survivor 18 is set in Brazil in a landlocked state called Tocantins (pronounced "To-can-cheens"). So this time it is Survivor: Tocantins---The Brazilian Highlands.

I am hoping that this time, in Brazil, being at this Tocantins place means we aren't going to be seeing any of that nasty, dirty Amazon River. Apparently, Tocantin is very remote and very wild, more wild than the Survivor norm. That sounds interesting.

This is the first Survivor on which someone under the age of 21 can survive. Which means we'll have a 19 year old named Spencer Duhm, from Florida.

Tonight's episode is titled, "Let’s Get Rid of the Weak Players Before We Even Start." Next Thursday's episode is titled, "The Poison Apple Needs to Go."

Intriguing. Who is the poison apple? And why do they need to go? Why must we get rid of the weak players before we start?

Jeff Probst is promising recording breaking blindsides, desolation and destruction. More than last season? Now, that is intriguing.

This time we have what may turn out to be some interesting characters. Like we always do on Survivor. We've got a cattle rancher, a millionaire, a former MTV exec, a model (oh yes, that is something new on Survivor), an NFL wife, an ex pro-cyclist, a guy named Taj who was a member of a band I've never heard of called SWV.

In addition to what is reported will be a record number of blindsides, Exile Island, this time, is supposed to be so nasty, so desolate, so disturbing, so scary, that it nearly destroys several of the Survivors sent there.

I'm in. See you in front of the TV, tonight at 8pm Eastern, 7pm, my time.
