Dancing With The Stars With Hope Solo & Maks Last While Bruce Jenner Sports His Updated Aged Lesbian Look

When I Googled "Bruce Jenner's Old Lesbian Look" looking for an image, before I gave up, I read in more than one location that those awful Kardashian girls did a makeover of their step-dad, modernizing his hairstyle, which is an improvement, and adding diamond stud earrings, which look ridiculous on a man in his 7th decade.

When Bruce Jenner was on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here we learned he was a a bit of a dimbulb, prone to repeating himself. I don't get why someone like Bruce Jenner does not just allow himself to age normally. Let the hair go gray, knock off the botox, or whatever it was that was done to his face.

I know it's a rude thing to say, but I agree with what I read someone say on Survivor Sucks, that being that Bruce Jenner nowadays looks like an aged lesbian spinster and wife Kris looks more macho than he does. Maybe Bruce needs a testosterone boost.

Anyway, regarding last night's Dancing with the Stars semi-finals, down to only 4 pseudo stars remaining, with one to be eliminated tonight, I made a lot of use of the fast forward button.

There were long filmed spots spotlighting sad sob sister stories of each of the "stars."

The only sad sob sister stories I listened at all to were Ricki Lake's and Rob Kardashian's. Ricki's was actually a real sad sob sister story. I've always liked Ricki Lake.

I don't know what Hope Solo's sad sob sister story was. Maybe hers was being picked on by the DWTS's judges.

Hope came in last place last night, by quite a margin. I thought she did well, but those who judge, did not.

I've been at this point in Dancing with the Stars before, where I quit watching. I'm likely at that point now. I don't care who wins that coveted disco ball trophy.

I knew that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Lisa Vanderpump and husband Ken were restaurateurs with restaurants all over the world.

I did not know that, in addition to restaurants, Lisa has designed yachts, homes, her own clothes and acted in movies and TV in her younger years.

It was being curious as to how the Vanderpumps amassed their fortune that led me learn more about Lisa.

I also did not know til this morning that Lisa's husband Ken's last name is not Vanderpump. He is Ken Todd.

I also did not know that someone named Jimmy Delshad had declared March 1st in Beverly Hills "Lisa Vanderpump Day" with Lisa being given the Key to the City.

I do not know on which year's March 1st Lisa Vanderpump Day occurred.

On Lisa's website I found the below "About" info, apparently written by Lisa, along with links to websites for two of her California restaurants, Villa Blanca and Sur where I learned that menu prices have been reduced due to these tough economic times...

Is The X Factor An Epic Fail For Simon Cowell?

In last week's Nielsen Ratings The X Factor was not in the Top 20. In this week's The X Factor the Wednesday performance show managed to tie for the 20th spot in the Top 20 with Rules of Engagement.

The Thursday X Factor results show did not make the Top 20.

In the latest Nielsen's The X Factor drew 11.8 million viewers to the Wednesday performance show. That is a drop from the season average of 13.2 million.

Simon Cowell has been quoted in the press saying he expected The X Factor to attract over 20 million viewers and would be very disappointed if it did not.

I'm guessing Simon Cowell is feeling a bit disappointed, then, at what appears to be an epic fail.

I think there may be several reasons The X Factor has not caught on with the American TV viewing public.

One reason is that there have been way too many of these singing competition type shows. And other similar type Reality TV competition type shows. Some sing, some dance, some perform any type of oddball act. All perform in front of a panel of judges who judge them. At some point the viewers vote.

Another reason The X Factor may have turned American viewers off is the host, Steve Jones. He is from the UK, not the US. He seems a nice enough guy, but lacks the Ryan Seacrest charm/amusement factor.

Another reason American viewers may have not liked The X Factor is it is way too slickly produced. And not in a good way. Way too many canned pieces. Even on the live shows.

The X Factor is filmed in the same studio as American Idol. American Idol makes much more subtle, sophisticated use of it staging pyrotechnics. The X Factor seems to constantly be launching every flashing light in the building. Way too visually noisy.

The competition between the judges seems phony and forced.

The first The X Factor results show was a train wreck level of bad. Way too many canned un-live bits for a live show. The group number was horrendous, poorly staged, badly choreographed and again with the over the top pyrotechnics.

Because The X Factor is not a hit, unlike American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, The X Factor, apparently, was unable to book someone  currently popular, like Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber, to sing on the first results show. Instead The X Factor had a group I've never heard of and who's name I do not remember.sing a song I did not like.

And then there were the results. Steve Jones says something like "We will now reveal the first person who is moving on to next week's live performance show," pause pause pause pause pause, "after the break."

Then after the break, still no results, more boring stuff, and then back to the it is time to reveal the first person bit, and again with the very very very long pause til finally a name is revealed. This process was repeated over and over and over again with the long long long long long pauses and then either a name or another commercial break.

This made for very very very very bad TV.

And then we get to 2 remaining. They have to sing again. It is two of Paula Abdul's boring groups. They sing. The judges then vote who to send home. If it is a tie, the group who gets the lowest public votes goes home. Simon votes for the group of a couple 100 kids called Intensity. The other 3 judges vote for Stereo Hogz, with L.A Reid being slow to vote, with Steve Jones telling Reid to hurry up, time is running out.

Which had me thinking, where was valuing time as precious when we had all those long long long long pauses waiting for Jones to name a name?

Unless the ratings pick up I don't see why FOX would bring back The X Factor for a second season. The show just does not have the X factor.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Night of Beauty Where We Learn What Drugs Kim is Taking

No, that is not Beverly Hills Housewife Kim Richard's face after sniffing some contraband substance into her nose.

What that white substance is is a perfectly legal ointment of the pre-surgical sort, administered by Adrienne's plastic surgeon doctor husband, Paul, at Paul's "Night of Beauty," where he tried to drum up some business for his practice by treating the Beverly Hills Housewives to some touch-ups.

Kim's sister Kyle opted for some laser octopus procedure in the hope it would vanquish her love handles and what she refers to as her "muffin top." I think "muffin top" means fat lower back.

I don't remember if Camille showed up for any work at Paul's "Night of Beauty." Camille seems perfect, to me, just the way she is. I know Brandi did not show up. Lisa did, but opted just to watch because she had to go to work and did not want to frighten her customers by looking all puffed up and burnt.

The most interesting part of Paul's "Night of Beauty" was the, what seemed to be a sort of staged, pre-op scene with Kim, in which Paul does a medical uptake with Kim to determine what meds she might be on that might conflict with whatever beauty meds Paul might have to administer to give Kim her "Night of Beauty."

Paul seemed to have a very good bedside manner, whilst talking to Kim. During this talk Kim revealed she is taking Topiramate, Trazadone and Lexapro. Paul then informed us that taking these meds can cause the patient to present the symptoms of a slurring, dizzy drunk.

So, now we finally had an explanation for Kim's slurring, dizzy drunk behavior.

Paul told Kim that these meds do not mix well with booze and asked Kim if she'd consumed any alcohol while on these meds. Kim claimed she has been booze free.

Topiramte (brand name Topamax) is an anti-convulsant (anti-epilepsy) drug. Have we been informed, previously that Kim is epileptic or prone to convulsions? Among the side effects to this med are memory problems, confusion and psychomotor slowing.

Trazadone and Lexapro are anti-depressants of the serotonin reuptake inhibitor class.

I've known a nutjob who took Lexapro along with a cocktail of other prescription meds. She was a way bigger mess than Kim.

Actually, Kim was seeming like the sane one of the group in the latest episode. Bailing on Kyle's silly "Psychic Party" in order to do something construction, like pack for a move.

When Kyle showed up at Kim's, near the end of the episode, with Kim finally telling Kyle she's been seeing someone, for a year, and was moving in with him, Kim seemed the rational, adult in the moment. While Kyle was the self-absorbed child, making it all about her. Why could Kyle simply not just be supportive and choose to believe this was a good thing, until, or if, shown otherwise?

Kyle's weird need to have Kim closer, at the same time Kyle's behaviors seem to be rather alienating, is very strange to watch. And where is big sister Kathy? The mother of niece Paris Hilton? Doesn't Kathy live in Beverly Hills? Does Kathy, with very good reason, have very little to do with Kyle? And Kim?

Changing the subject to that contrived seance at Kyle's house. Methinks in Beverly Hills it would be very easy to run a seance con job operation. It seems as if it would not be very difficult to get little nuggets of info on these women, which,  they, apparently, are easily conned into believing you are divining the info from beyond the grave.

Changing the subject from Kyle's seance to Camille Grammer. Ex-husband Kelsey trying to get sole custody of Camille's kids is such a bad boy behavior. I know Kelsey has millions of fans. But, there are several million watching Camille on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills amusingly, and somewhat vindictively, giving Kelsey a well-deserved bitch slap.

Courtesy of Camille we now know Kelsey was not very blessed in the lovemaker department, has interesting choices in outerwear and sometimes likes to go both directions on a swing.

And then there is Taylor. What a piece of work. I'm glad Paul was able to do some more beauty work on her. I wish he'd enlarged Taylor's lips a bit more. Taylor and deceased husband, Russell, thinking Lisa is the source of tabloid gossip about them is so pathetic. Taylor whining that Lisa is telling people she has no friends is also so pathetic.

And next week's preview, that showed the housewives confronting Taylor about Taylor telling the girls that Russell beats her, looks to be epic.

I watch too many CSI type TV shows. Which has long had me wondering if there is an ongoing investigation into Russell's apparent suicide? It seems way more likely, to me, that Taylor would be the one who might administer a beating, than Russell, who never has evidenced the slightest semblance of a temper, on screen. Something that can not be said of Taylor, who seems to have a very short fuse.

I am being a bit surprised at how much of the Taylor/Russell story is being shown. I somehow thought it was going to be mostly edited out.

The Amazing Race in Malawi with Andy & Tommy 1st Again After Ernie & Cindy Don't U-Turn Them With Justin & Jennifer Eliminated

Watching Sunday night's race to be first to the Pit Stop on The Amazing Race I thought to myself "What would Jesus do?"

Andy & Tommy, who we learned in the previous two episodes of AR, wear their Christian beliefs quite vociferously on their sleeves, seemed to choose greed over an act of grateful, graceful kindness.

Ernie & Cindy had used their Express Pass after not having a lot of luck paddling a wooden dugout on Lake Malawi in Malawi. At the Jamaica Cafe spot where their clue to the Pit Stop was to be acquired, Ernie & Cindy were first to the Double U-Turn. Even though they knew Andy & Tommy were close behind them, they opted out of using the U-Turn to block Andy & Tommy, the use of which would have guaranteed Ernie & Cindy a 1st place finish and what turned out to be a big money prize of $30,000. (Correction: Kris corrects my bad memory, telling me it was $15K not $30K)

It was Justin & Jennifer who came in last and were eliminated. They are a nice brother/sister team. But, Jennifer messed up real bad at the Roadblock. She successfully pedaled a bike, with a rider holding a fish, got paid, but because she left the clue with her brother she did not know what to do. So, she stood. And stood. And stood. I think she stood for an awful long time. Finally she pedaled back to her brother to learn that is what she should have done upon getting paid, because that was where she got the next clue.

Amani & Marcus took a long while to solve a frustrating Speed Bump puzzle. Once that was accomplished Marcus zoomed through delivering his fish. If I remember right they went from last to coming in 3rd. Amani & Marcus were the only team to choose the Unload the Boat detour option, while all other teams chose the Dugout Canoe Course option on Lake Malawi.

The oldest team in the race, Bill & Cathi, known as Ma & Pa, continue to do real well. They stay calm and are in really good shape. They don't bicker. Unlike Jeremy & Sandy. Sandy sort of annoys me with her "stop yelling at me" complaints, when Jeremy is not actually yelling. I've known personalities like Sandy's and I've found them to be very difficult.

Supposedly Laurence & Zac make their living on boats. But, paddling a canoe seemed to baffle them Laurence in one super annoying overbearing dad. I don't think either of them are very bright. Amani & Marcus were leaving the Jamaica Cafe Double U-Turn location just as Laurence & Zac arrived, passing them at the entry.

Laurence & Zac then came to the Double U-Turn and without a moment's hesitation, Laurence said we choose to U-Turn Amani & Marcus. It was bizarre.

I really do no like the U-Turn and Double U-Turn gimmick. It needs to go. It is too drastic. A team getting U-Turned might as well just give up.

I found landlocked Malawi to be very interesting. Lake Malawi is the third largest lake in Africa and the 8th biggest in the world.

So far I think my favorite racers are Ma & Pa and Ernie & Cindy. I don't think Ernie has it in his DNA to lose his temper.
