An Afghanimal U-Turn Eliminates The Cowboys From Amazing Race All-Stars

I am not a fan of The Amazing Race when it goes into All-Star mode. The latest Amazing Race All-Stars really only had a couple of memorable teams from seasons past.

With one of those memorable teams, actual Amazing Race All-Stars, the Cowboys, Jet & Cord McCoy.

The Cowboys have now run The Amazing Race three times. Their initial season, followed by a previous All-Stars race, followed by the current All-Stars race, where the Cowboys got eliminated on the latest episode, eliminated by the Afghanimals, Leo & Jamal, U-Turning them.

If I remember right the Cowboys got eliminated on their previous race by being U-Turned.

I really do not like The Amazing Race U-Turn gimmick.

I also do not like The Amazing Race All-Stars gimmick.

I'm not a fan of any Reality TV Show in All-Star mode. I never have watched another episode of Big Brother after repugnant, creepy Mike Boogie won Big Brother All-Stars, with the only reason Boogie was on Big Brother All-Stars being because actual Big Brother All-Star, Will Kirby, insisted the non-All-Star best friend of his, the creepy Boogie, be included.

I also do not like Survivor in its multiple forms of  "All-Star" seasons, be it Fan Favorites, Heroes vs. Villains, Significant Others or any other version which brings back, yet again, Rupert, any of the Hantz family, Ozzie, Colby and others who were fun to watch once, maybe twice,  but never thrice.

The current version of Survivor, the one with the Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty gimmick, with the entire cast being people we've never met before, going back to old school Survivor, is being the best season of Survivor in a long long time, with the best blindsides ever.

Now, if CBS puts the Cowboys on Big Brother, well, that  I might watch....

The Amazing Race Eliminates The Cowboys With Zev & Justin First Again to the Pitstop

I don't like the U-Turn and Double U-Turn on The Amazing Race.

I don't like Detours that involving a difficult eating challenge on The Amazing Race.

I don't like it when someone helps another team by giving them the answer to a difficult challenge on The Amazing Race.

The most recent episode of The Amazing Race had all three elements that I don't like.

The Cowboys, Jet & Cord McCoy, were U-Turned by the Globetrotters, which eliminated the Cowboys by making them do the other half of the Detour, eating a big fondue pot full of cheese. The Cowboys had fallen behind due to Jet having trouble with the Roadblock.

The person doing the Roadblock had to ride a motorized bike called a Solex, using the bike's odometer to measure the length of Liechtenstein. Cord got lost and was way off with his first guess. Justin was the first to find a Liechtensteiner Olympic skier named Marco Buchel and tell him the correct distance of 22 kilometers.

Jen lost her map, then hooked up with Justin, who then told Jen the answer. Jet gave Marco a wrong answer, on his way back to the starting point Jet  passed Flight Time, who then accidented upon Kisha & Jen and Zev & Justin waiting for the bus to take them to the train to take them to Zermatt, Switzerland. The two teams in the lead gave Flight Time the 22 kilometer answer he needed.

Flight Time then ran into Gary and gave Gary the 22 kilometer answer. I don't remember how Vyxsin got the answer. She seemed quite lost.

I think it sort of ruins the whole premise of a challenge like a Roadblock where you are instructed to ride a bike and use the odometer to measure something and then get your answer via other means. Why not just stop locals and ask how long Liechtenstein is?

The Detours in Zermatt were the cheese eating or delivering 20 pieces of luggage to 5 different hotels. Only Zev & Justin chose to eat the cheese. Kisha & Jen quickly bailed on the cheese. When the Cowboys got U-Turned and headed back to the cheese, we really did not see them eat all the cheese. I suspect they were told to just go to the Pitstop.

Zermatt is the resort ski town at the base of the Matterhorn. Could they not have thought of something snow/mountain oriented rather than the lame cheese eating and luggage delivery?

That Kent & Vyxsin are still racing, with the Cowboys out, seems all sorts of wrong. The Cowboys always stay good-natured and level-headed no matter what was happening. Kent & Vyxsin crumble over and over again. It was pretty funny when whiney Kent was moving so slow after delivering all the luggage that Vyxsin put the whiner in the delivery cart and hauled him back to the ticket counter clue giver.

It seems that Vyxsin is the man in that strange relationship.

Last week Zev & Justin each got a 2012 Ford Focus for coming in First. This week they got a trip for two from Travelocity to Curacao in the Caribbean. With the Cowboys gone Zev & Justin are my favorite team.

The Amazing Race 16: Final 3 Jet & Cord, Dan & Jordan, Brent & Caite

UPDATE: Jet & Cord come in 2nd. Dan & Jordan 1st to the finish line in Candlestick Park.

The cowboys, Jet & Cord better come in 1st on Sunday or it'll be another bad ending of The Amazing Race.

It will be a particularly bad ending if the dumb models, Brent & Caite win.

Less bad if Dan & Jordan win. Though I did find Dan & Jordan's meltdowns, in Shanghai, to be embarrassing and annoying, with both of them losing it in frustration in a taxi. And with Jordan losing it over the simple detour task of looking for his name on a ink stamp carving.

But the worst is Brent & Caite. Over and over and over again Caite's goes on about how she's proven to the world, by her imaginary stellar Amazing Race performance, that she is not the moronic idiot she showed herself to be in her infamous beauty pageant "such as" answer to a question.

Pretty much every time Caite reminds us how highly intelligent she really is, she does, or says, something stupid. Like, while looking for ink stamps Brent desperately needs a potty break. He is in such misery he can't concentrate. He tells Caite over and over again he needs to go to the bathroom.

Due to the rules, both have to be within a set distance of their cameraman, so, Brent could not take off by himself to find a restroom.

Eventually dimwit Caite figured out that it was hurting their effort to have Brent not concentrating, so she relented and let him have his bathroom break.

The detectives, Michael & Louis, over and over again bragged about what great detectives they were, only to be shown failing in an epic way. Like teaming with Dan & Jordan to look for the Water Bridge, with Michael saying he'd be able to detect it from on high. Then spying some random clothes and thinking they might be hiding the clue.

And Michael & Louis having trouble finding their ink stamps. They did do well at the Speed Bump, though. It didn't involve any sleuthing, just throwing coins in a hole.

Cord & Jet struggled a bit this episode. Communicating with the Chinese was a challenge for all the teams. Cord & Jet and Brent & Caite got the Pitstop clue at about the same time. It appeared that Cord & Jet got to the Pitstop location in 1st place, but then went the wrong direction on the boardwalk, while Brent & Caite went the correct direction and came in 1st.

Next week it appears the final destination city is San Francisco. Rumors abound on the internet that something happens of a confrontational sort at the race's end. Not between the Final 3, but between eliminated racers waiting for the Final 3.

Or maybe it will be something do to with one of the Final 3 teams. Something between Caite and her arch enemies, Carol & Brandy, the girl's nasty Caite calls the Mean Lesbians?
