Bad Girl Courtney Skinny Dipping with Bachelor Ben Flajnik in Puerto Rico

Courtney & Ben Skinny Dipping in Puerto Rico
Tonight is the infamous episode of The Bachelor where the bad girl, villain, Courtney Robertson, to the upset of all his other potential wives, convinces Bachelor Ben to go skinny dipping with her so she can rock his world.

For some unfathomable to me, reason, for this skinny dipping scene, ABC is putting big black blocks over the location where Courtney and Ben's underwear was located, prior to removal.

This strikes me as the height, absolute height, of hypocrisy.

Are we protecting impressionable young minds with this particular censorship?

But we don't protect those same impressionable young minds from watching a couple dozen women overly imbibe in alcohol and behave badly?

The bevy of potential wives from which Ben can select his mate seem to be unusually profuse in the use of profanity. To protect those same impressionable young minds this profanity is bleeped out. But, it is fairly easy to tell what particular piece of profanity is being spewed.

We don't seem to be protecting impressionable young minds from seeing Ben serial kissing dozens of women. The volume of germs being exchanged is appalling.

The current iteration of The Bachelor has yet to crack the Top 20 in the Nielsen Ratings. Judging from what I read in TV Forums, on the Interwebs, there is widespread dislike for this particular bachelor. Complaints about him being boring and looking like the caveman in Geico commercials. I think it was Geico.

Below is a YouTube video, uncensored, of Courtney & Ben's Skinny Dipping Romp in Puerto Rico. The censored version is viewable tonight, January 30 on ABC at 8/7C. I don't know how long this uncensored video version will last before ABC asks YouTube to take it down........

It's Official: If The Series Is Not Cancelled Due To Boring Ben Then Emily Maynard Is The Next Bachelorette

Ben Flajnik Doing a Nerd Imitation
I have heard it opined a time or two that much of the TV I watch is drivel. I prefer to characterize it as I am drawn to Train Wreck Bad Reality TV.

Likely the worst of the Train Wreck Bad Reality TV drivel that I watch is ABC's Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise.

The current edition, with boring Ben Flajnik being The Bachelor, is being particularly bad.

Ben's marriage proposal was rejected by previous Bachelorette Ashley. Ashley was as boring as Ben.

That is Ben Flajnik in the picture above. Ben seems to have a very limited vocabulary. He favors words like "amazing," "awesome" and "incredible' in various iterations. Sometimes all in one sentence, such as "You are so amazing, awesome and incredible."

It seems that the producers of The Bachelor cast for potential mates the same way Hell's Kitchen casts for cooks. The Bachelor seems to case about 20 psychotic nutcases, along with 3 or 4 women who might be suitable marriage material.

And then add a lot of alcohol to assure that the crazy gets unleashed.

Ben Trying to Scare a Girl to Death
Each iteration of this series now seems to include a stock figure, as in one boy or girl who is in it for all the wrong reasons, who treats it as a game show on which she, or he, is a contestant, with the Bachelor or Bachelorette the prize.

Currently this contestant is Courtney. I believe it is Courtney who talks Ben into going skinnydipping next week, in Puerto Rico, and after they are naked in the water tells him she is about to rock his world.

One thing I have noticed on this season of The Bachelor is when the girls go on a date with Ben they wear their bikinis under their outerwear.

Last week Ben took a group of girls skiing down a hill of manmade snow in San Francisco. Somehow the girls were prepared, with bikinis, when Ben ordered them to strip and ski.

This week Ben took the potential wives to Park City, Utah. There he had solo dates with a mousy blonde whose name I do not remember and a cute redhead named Jennifer.

Ben took Jennifer on yet one more of the sadistic try to scare a girl to death type dates. Was it last week Ben had Emily climb to the top of the Oakland Bay Bridge to terrify her? This week it was scared of heights Jennifer whom Ben made lower herself into a Utah crater, via a cable, with the cable snapping part way down, dropping the loving couple into a pool of water.

I forgot to mention, Jennifer came prepared to strip down to the always on bikini underwear.

Maybe it is just me, but if I ever went on a "date" with a person and they took me to climb up a bridge or climb into a hole I think I would quickly decide I am not interested in this nutjob.

But, it is not like Ben actually plans or executes these dates, even though that is the pretense. It's all part of the overly produced, overly scripted ridiculousness of this sometimes amusing example of Train Wreck TV.

Emily Maynard, the Next Bachelorette
And coming up.

If ABC does not cancel this franchise due to the big drop in ratings, "Emily Maynard will be looking for love on the next season of The Bachelorette.'

And you just know she won't find it.

Love that is.

Anymore than she did with Brad Womack.

Or he with her.

ABC's The Bachelor Ben Flajnik Goes Skinny Dipping With Potential Wife

Apparently ABC is going back to a time before Janet Jackson's Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction, back to a time when bare butts regularly made an appearance on ABC's NYPD Blue, and a few other shows, with the latest iteration of The Bachelor, set to premiere Monday, January 2, 2012.

In a promo video viewable on Entertainment Weekly's Insider TV in an article titled "New promo for 'The Bachelor' features Ben's bare butt -- EXCLUSIVE NSFW VIDEO" you can see Ben Flajnik go skinny dipping with one of his wife candidates.

In the video promo it appears that the other wife candidates watch the skinny dipping from afar and react in mortified horror.

The potential wives this time, at least judging from the video promo, were cast for cursing ability. There is a lot of use of the infamous F-word.

Apparently at some point in the ongoing potential wife winnowing process an ex girl friend of Ben's arrives. This has one of the homicidal maniac potential wife's saying "I am going to kill whoever walks in that door."

This threat of violence and Ben's bare butt leads me to something that has long bugged me.

On primetime TV it is perfectly okay to show all sorts of acts of violence. On shows like the various CSIs, Bones, the NCISs, and others, we can see a body cut up during an autopsy. Or the crime scene before the body gets to the autopsy table. Or the actual murder.

But we can not see a bare butt. To me a bare butt is perfectly innocuous. As are bare boobs. On the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills a lot of attention was paid to Brandi Glanville's nipples, which were clearly visible, despite being covered by a dress. But, Brandi being topless would be a big no-no.

This makes no sense to me. It seems a sane healthy minded world would tend to censor scenes of violence, not scenes of human bodies in their perfectly natural state.

With ABC deciding to bare butts again, I wonder if this means the cameras are going to follow Ben all night long in the notorious Fantasy Suite episodes.

The Bachelor Pad Finale Drives Kasey To Tears While Holly & Michael Win

Well, the leaked details of the Bachelor Pad Finale turned out to be pretty much 100% correct.

Holly & Michael beat Michelle & Graham in the race to split $250K.

I switched over to watching Bachelor Pad when the Republican Debate on CNN went to commercial. I did not realize, at the time, that ABC was bloating Bachelor Pad to a 3 hour long time span.

Things that stick in my memory from last night.

The Cirque du Soleil competition in Las Vegas. Judged by former Bachelors/Bachelorettes, Ali Fedorowosky, or however you spell her name, Jason Mesnick and Trista, the first Bachelorette. The trio seemed way too earnest in their judging.

The earnest judges gave the win to Holly & Michael and gave the boot to Ella & Kirk. Ella took it real bad because now she'd have no money for her kid and plastic surgery.

Winners, Holly & Michael, had 2 Sacred Red Roses to give to whoever they wanted to go to the end with. After some weird Graham angst and Kasey being his clueless overly intense self, it was Michelle & Graham to the end, where they did not win.

The return of the Bachelor Pad Bootees part was the most entertaining. Watching Kasey get his comeuppance, via a clip of highlights of his most douchey behavior, with that driving him to tears, then him saying, "Sometimes it feels like I just can't get back to being happy!" Well, that was satisfying.

Another Kasey highlight was his fellow villain, Justin Rego, saying Kasey & Vienna were like Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, with the Kermit remark referring to Kasey's odd speaking voice. This had Kasey revealing he has a speech impediment, to the seeming incredulousness of Chris Harrison.

Erica Rose was highly amusing. She really should be the next Bachelorette.

Blake's contrived, filmed, proposal to Holly was so weirdly staged, as if they were hiking in the mountains in formal wear. With cameramen in tow.

If I understood correctly, at some point someone indicated that the filming of Bachelor Pad took place over the course of only 3 weeks. Blake got smitten with Holly and vice verse in 3 weeks? I think there must be a long lag time between the end of filming and the finale filming we saw last night.

The finale ended with the introduction of Ashley reject, Ben Flajnik as the next Bachelor. I'm guessing it is going to be a trainwreck.

According to Reality Steve Holly & Michael Win Bachelor Pad With Holly Engaged to Blake While Ben Flajnik is Announced as the Next Bachelor

ABC's Bachelor Pad sort of wore out its welcome with me last week.

Erica Rose & Blake coming in 2nd in the amusing Nearlywed Game, and, like winners, Graham & Michelle, getting to leave the Pad on a date, with an overnight option.

And then on that date Erica & Blake learn that they have to give a couple back in the Pad a pair of Sacred Red Immunity Roses.

It was giving the Sacred Red Immunity Roses to Vienna & Kasey that jumped the shark for me. I really do not like Kasey. Is his nasally high pitched voice the result of a medical condition? Did puberty halt for Kasey part way through the deepening of the voice process?

I digress.

So, Erica & Blake gave away the pair of Sacred Red Immunity Roses and then were promptly evicted from the Pad. Leaving Kasey & Vienna, Ella & Kirk, Michelle & Graham and Holly & Michael remaining.

There is this guy who calls himself "Reality Steve" who is a Master of Spoilage. Near as I can tell "Reality Steve's" spoilers are close to 100% accurate, most of the time.

Below is what "Reality Steve" had to say about Monday night's Bachelor Pad Finale...

-They bring out the 14 contestants who aren’t in the final four and get an update what’s going on with everyone. Ames and Jackie’s broken relationship is brought up and Ames basically says she’s a great girl, but they’re too different. Jackie is still surprised she got dumped, but whatever. They’re not together. You knew that.

-Jake is up on the hot seat first. Talked about the triangle with him, Kasey, and Vienna. Kasey apologizes for some of the things he directed at Jake this season, and they hug it out on stage. Booooooooo…..

-Blake is up next on the hot seat. Now remember, the final four haven’t been brought out yet. Michael, Holly, Michelle, and Graham are all backstage not knowing what’s happening out on stage.

-Blake talks about the whole Melissa incident, then is asked about what’s the status with Holly. He says he’s been spending a lot of time with her, he loves her, and he’s never loved anyone like this before. Chris Harrison then steps in and says something to the effect of, “There’s more to this story…”. Then then show a clip on the big screen, where in just the last few days, Blake proposed to Holly and she accepted. They are engaged, which is why she’s moving to South Carolina. Now their tweets to each other Monday night make sense. It wasn’t specified when exactly this engagement that was shown on the big screen took place, but, it was sometime in the last few days.

-Kasey is on the hot seat next and talks about how he was embarrassed by some of the things he saw of himself on TV and that the show was very difficult to watch for him and Vienna. He says they’re in love, and that they’re still together, which we knew since they just bought a place in LA together.

-The final four is brought out on stage. Both teams had to state their case as to why they thought they deserved the money. Michael described why Holly should win, then Holly did the same as to why she thought Michael should win. Graham and Michelle did the same each explaining why they thought the other team member deserved to win. Michelle also made it clear that she didn’t want any pity votes from anyone because of what happened with her father.

-At some point during this is when Michael finds out Holly is engaged to Blake. Michael did not know. He knew Holly was moving to South Carolina, but she never told him (I guess she tried but couldn’t get a hold of him), and Michael is told that they’re engaged. He’s pretty surprised.

-Also up on stage, not sure at what point it went down, but Graham was talking about Michelle and started to get down on one knee. I guess some thought there was gonna be another proposal, but, he didn’t. He had a bouquet of flowers next to his seat. He gave one rose to Michelle, then went in the audience and gave the rest of the bouquet to her mother who was in attendance over the passing of her husband.

-Before the voting took place, the eliminated contestants got to ask the final four any questions. Rego basically said he didn’t think any of them deserved the money. Kirk asked each one individually why they thought they deserved the money. Kasey asked Michael and Holly why they deserved the money over Graham and Michelle. Michael thought that was the exact same question as Kirk’s, Kasey said no it wasn’t, but I guess Michael disagreed and said he wasn’t gonna answer the question.

-So it was voting time, as each of the 14 contestants had to write down the name of the COUPLE they wanted to win. And by an overwhelming majority of 10-4….Michael and Holly got the most votes. The only 4 votes for Graham and Michelle were from Kasey, Vienna, Melissa, and William.

-At this point, it was the same exact ending as last season. Both Michael and Holly go backstage, and have to each choose either “Keep” or “Share.”

-If one chose “Keep” and the other chose “Share”, the one who chose keep gets all 250k.
-If they both chose “Share”, they split the 250k.
-If they both chose “Keep”, neither gets anything, and the remaining 14 contestants split the 250k.

-After deliberation in the back, Holly shows her choice first, and it’s “Share.” Michael pulls a Natalie from last season and starts saying things that are leaning towards him choosing “Keep” (like finding out she’s now engaged), but in the end, he says they were partners, and he chose “Share”, so the two of them will now split 250k.

-Last order of business was Ben being brought out and he’s introduced as the next “Bachelor.” In case you didn’t read what I wrote three weeks ago when I announced this, the women arrive in LA on Saturday the 17th, and filming begins on Ben’s season Tuesday, September 20th.

Ashley Temporarily Breaks Ben's Heart by Picking JP on The Bachelorette

That is Ben on The Bachelorette, after Ashley rejected his on-his-knees proposal and then sent him out to sea, from Fiji, in a little dinghy.

Prior to being rejected Ben had declared his love for Ashley and asked her family members for permission to marry her.

Ben said, "Everything in life to me is clear -- this is it. I do believe Ashley is in love with me."

Ashley really gave Ben no reason to think otherwise. These Bachelorette/Bachelor type reality shows can be a bit cruel.

In real life leading a guy on would not be seen as a good character trait.

After rejecting Ben, JP arrived. Ashley quickly accepted JP's marriage proposal, even though it was not delivered by JP down on his knees.

Prior to the proposal rejections and acceptances, we saw the boys meet Ashley's mom, step-dad, brother and sister from hell.

The sister's name is Chrystie. She is an older sister. Covered head to toe with what looked to be tattoos of cartoon characters. Within 15 minutes of meeting JP, the sister, who Ashley later lashed out at saying "You're such a bitch!" because sister Chrystie had come to the conclusion, based on very limited data, that JP was not a suitable match for Ashley.

I think sister Chrystie's primary problem was the HUGE age difference and something to do with one or the other not making one or the other laugh. I think the real problem was Chrystie found herself with a quick case of the HOTS for JP, making divorced sister Chrystie in full jealous sister mode.

I thought sister Chrystie was quite articulate. But I can see why Ashley thought she was being a bitch. I'd have trouble accepting advice from anyone who's idea of a good idea was to cover their body with tattoos.

Prior to making her final selection the boys were taken on one more date. On Ben's date Ashley was in full seductress mode, covering Ben all over with mud. Later it appeared the two former lovebirds spent the night together, while it was made clear on the eventual winner's, I mean fiance's, date, Ashley left JP's bedroom and went to wherever her own bed was.

On the After the Final Rose Show, Ben was up first to get interviewed by a now puffy-haired Chris Harrison. Ben seemed like he's survived his heartbreak. The women in the audience seemed to swoon over him. But not nearly as much as the women swooned over Ames on the Men Tell All episode Sunday night. Ames got a rock star mania level of swooning.

I think perky ultra-green boy, Ryan, should be dropped from contention for being the next The Bachelor and consideration given to both Ames and Ben. Ames would be very amusing robotically navigating a couple dozen women. As would Ben. Ryan, not so much.

There are rumors on the Interwebs, rarely to be believed, that ABC has paid Ashley and JP $50K, each, to keep quiet, for at least a month, regarding the fact that they've already split up. This to avoid yet one more incident of one of these odd reality TV romances coming to a quick end.

I would think both JP and Ben could do a lot better for themselves than Ashley. I would not be able to get past the annoying voice, the constant playing with her hair, and her family, shallow boy that I be.

The Bachelorette Ashley Scores 2 Out of 3 in the Fantasy Suites

The latest iteration of The Bachelorette is really not delivering the entertainment. But, the ratings are good, with the show being in the Top 10.

Barack Obama interrupted Monday's Fantasy Suite Episode.

Ben Flajnik was first up. I wonder how you pronounce that last name?

Ben & Ashley had fun on a boat. Ashley felt it was like being on a honeymoon as she lathered suntan lotion on Ben. So, Ashley was already in a honeymoon mood well before she handed Ben that corny card that tells Ben if he's feeling it, and Ashley agrees, they can spend the night together in the Fantasy Suite.

Soon we saw Ben carrying Ashley to bed. I do not know why what happens on that bed in the Fantasy Suite is not recorded for our voyeuristic viewing pleasure.

Up next was Ben's twin, Constantine Tzortzis. Again I've no idea how to pronounce that name. If I remember right Constantine's Fantasy Suite date consisted of flying around Fiji. I think a waterfall may have been involved. Then we got to the part where the Fantasy Suite card gets played.

However, even before Constantine was presented with the offer spend the night with Ashley, in connubial bliss, he decided he just was not that in to her and left to return to the states.

I forgot to mention, before Ben had his way with Ashley the mysterious returnee we'd been shown last week in the previews knocked on Ashley's door. It was Ryan. The guy she dumped in Taiwan. Ryan seems way too smarmy to me. He came across as sort of weird. And like he was doing some sort of audition to be the next Bachelor. Ryan made his case, gave Ashley the address of where he was staying. Later Ashley showed up at Ryan's place and rejected him again.

Ryan took it well. I don't like grown men who use the word "gosh" a lot. I don't know why it annoys me.

After the break for Barack it was JP Rosenbaum's chance to impress Ashley with his Fantasy Suite prowess. The previews had made it seem like JP commits some sort of unforgivable error in the Fantasy Suite, or prior to the Fantasy Suite.

The DVR recording stopped before The Bachelorette did, so I saw no previews. Before the recording stopped I did see JP and Ashley make it into the Fantasy Suite where Ashley slipped into something more comfortable, going to commercial as JP crawled on top of her on their Fantasy Suite bed.

Do the potential husbands see each other when not on a date with Ashley, like they do in the other parts of the husband audition process? Did Ben come back from his night in the Fantasy Suite and tell Constantine all the gory details? That'd be a bit of a turnoff. I don't think JP would handle hearing the details of Ben's night of bliss. I suspect the boys do not see each other during the Fantasy Suite of the husband audition process.

Next week is the Men Tell All episode. Those are always boring. Then the following week we get to see Ashley's sister tell her she likes neither of Ashley's potential husbands.
