Paris Hilton's My New BFF In America, The UK & Dubai

I long ago admitted I find Paris Hilton and her search for a new best friend forever show, on MTV, to be very amusing.

I think some of the amusement may not be intended. Like a recent episode had Paris testing her BFF Wannabes to see if they'd tell her the truth. So, Paris arrived in an outfit that looked goofy. If she looks goofy, Paris wants her BFF to let her know.

Well, at the time, no one spoke up. But why would they? Prior to this test they'd been tested on how well they would survive being locked up behind bars, like Paris has found herself a time or two. So, Paris put her inmates through the rigors of prison life, having them perform little tests, like seeing how fast they can run in high heels while carrying luggage through an obstacle course, to replicate one of Paris' fast airport runs to catch a plane, while in heels.

While Paris was being the Prison Matron she was garbed in the manner you see in the picture. So, this is how she appears in front of her BFF Wannabes and then a day or two later she's dressed like a Boca Raton Retiree in Florida and expects someone to say something?

During the testing of their fashion sense the wannabes had to carry around Baby Paris dolls, who told them what to do, with Paris off somewhere else, barking the orders into a microphone. That was amusing. At one point Paris instigated a prank that escalated into a fight, with all the girls and Stephan, the gay guy, ganging up on David, the straight guy, who didn't want to play with dolls or wear high heels.

In an episode prior, Paris' little doggie, Tinkerbell, played a big role. One of the BFF's gets sent home after being put up for Discussion, where Paris discusses with them, their, well, BFF shortcomings, during that particular episode. Paris had Tinkerbelle decide who should be sent home. First Tinkerbelle examined David, David kissed her, all was fine. Next was Caitlin, Tinkerbelle like her. Next was the other, supposed straight guy, who had entered the show along with David, this episode. Well, Tinkerbelle took one look at that guy and tried to bite him. So, he got sent home.

I really think one of the networks should pick up Paris Hilton's My New BFF franchise. It's more entertaining than a lot of the stuff on network primetime, like ABC's Superstars which I watched last night. Maksim Chermokovsky has shown he is way more than light on his feet. Last night the Dancing with the Stars star ran like a bat out of hell, winning a long foot race.

I did not know that Paris had taken her New BFF search to other countries. She searched the UK for a New BFF. And found one. Currently Paris is searching in Dubai for a New BFF. That should prove interesting.

I suspect Paris will not be wearing her skimpy Prison Matron garb while she is searching for hew New BFF in Dubai. I am sure much hilarity will ensue. Will there be a token Arab gay guy, that is a staple of Paris' search? I believe the token gay guy became the New BFF in the UK search.

How many BFF's does Paris need? One in each country? This search could go on for a long time.

ABC's The Bachelorette: Reid Rejected, Ed With ED

I'm appalled that Jillian dumped Reid. Reid seemed totally sane and sensible and realistic. And that pairing was less painful to watch than watching her with Kiptyn and Ed.

So, that Fantasy Suite card was whipped out again, with this time everyone on board for it, to varying degrees of success.

Before Kiptyn got his pass to the Fantasyland, he and Jillian had a very Freudian moment where Jillian had a lot of trouble getting on top of a big pole. With a lot of encouragement from Kiptyn, Jillian made it, but she failed in the climax of the ordeal, that being taking a leap of faith and grabbing a bar.

I don't remember much of the Fantasy Suite part of Jillian and Reid. I do remember they seemed to be having fun in Hawaii.

So, it turned out to be Ed who had a case of Fantasy Suite ED. Jillian was quite upset. Apparently she'd looked forward to getting to know Ed better, in the Biblical sense, than Kiptyn or Reid. I would have thought that after meeting Ed's parents, his stock would have gone down a bit.

I think next week is the episode where all the rejects, including Reid, come back for much mayhem and hilarity. I hope they get them well liquored up first.

Below is an amusing blurb I found on one of the many Internet Forums debating the serious issues raised by this highbrow show, this is a missive directed at Jillian from a heartsick viewer.....

I seriously don't know what to say to Jillian…I mean, yes, the point of this show is to help YOU find love and for YOU to have a happy ending, but in the process of this show, I've definitely fallen in love with Reid. You guys together were probably the most real I have seen on this show, so far, and I've watched a lot of seasons. I was shocked, to say the least, when you let him go…I don't know what to say. From a viewer's perspective, the chemistry, the LOVE was undeniable between the two of you and I don't mean to be rude, but I can not believe that you didn't go by what you felt, but instead went by what you heard. With time, I felt like Reid would have told you how he was feeling. And the entire time, HE WAS THE ONE BEING REALISTIC, I mean you guys have only known each other for about 6-8 weeks. To expect a proposal from a guy you've only dated for two months AND at the same time were dating other people, is just plain ridiculous. For the first half of the season, you were so calm about the expectation coming out of this show and for the last two episodes, you've been ALL ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT. I think that he was living in real life and wanted to know if this would work in real life instead of the fantasy land you guys were in. I think he had his head on screwed right. When Ed said I love you on the video, the HUGELY skeptic part of me didn't believe him. And I could only gush when Reid said honey bear. All I can do right now is wish you goodluck with whoever, and maybe buy myself a plane ticket to Philly to comfort my favorite bachelor.

ABC's The Bachelorette: No One Makes It In The Fantasy Suite

Last night on ABC's The Bachelorette, I believe it was Episode 8, it beiing the episode where a card gets delivered from the annoying host of this show, Chris Harrison, telling the recipients of the card that if they are so inclined they can give up their separate sleeping quarters and instead opt to spend the night together as a couple in the "Fantasy Suite".

The "Fantasy Suite" part of these Bachelor/Bachelorette shows always has a bit of a make me gag factor to them. But last night's was different.

Weeks of previews misled viewers to believe that someone, most guessed Reid, got to the "Fantasy Suite", but was unable to act out his fantasy, leaving Jillian in tears, because she really want that fantasy to come true.

Last night we saw none of that. For the first time in these show's history, both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the invitee invited no one to spend the night with her. So, it was not Reid who was unable to perform his "Fantasy Suite" duties, all the boys were unable to perform those duties.

It seemed to me everyone was a bit relieved not to have to go through with that "Fantasy Suite" fantasy.

In the end, greasy, weasel-like Wes was left roseless.

Three's Company's Joyce Dewitt's Drunk Driving Mug Shot

Several decades ago there was a hit show on ABC called Three's Company. This morning one of the Three was in the news, she being Joyce Dewitt. Ms. Dewitt showed up in the worst mug shot since Mel Gibson's.

Ms. Dewitt, who is now 60, was arrested by Sgt. Danny Kim, after she drove past a barricade by a park in El Segundo, California, after which the officer pulled her over, got her out of the car, giving her a field sobriety test, when it became apparent, Ms. Dewitt was drunk.

Ms. Dewitt was booked, cited for drunk driving and then released on her own recognizance. apparently sober by that point in time.

I wonder how Suzanne Somers is looking these days?
